The first steps to British land speed records

Starting off with some very ropey Aprilia RS50 mopeds i am trying to create the perfect weapon to attempt the 100cc British land speed records but not the outright fastest speed that would be both very hard and expensive. No, i found a much more fun way to gain many records, namely the distance and duration records, last set in the last 1960's due to the unavailability of a suitable track to do them on.

Luckily i have a great contact at Kendrew Barracks, the old RAF Cottesmore site with a 1.7 mile long brilliant condition runway, that i have controlled access to. So with the help of Trevor Duckworth at Straightliners i am planning to attempt all records up to 12 hours, and as far as we can travel in that time for the distance.

Back on it!

Those who know, know I spent 7 hours at Technical inspection last speedweek in August 2025 having bike checked over. Loads of issues as expected found. I came back to US in November 2025 to move it on
