For some time i have been working on how to activate the parachute release from the tilt switch, and finally, all the parts came together.
So using a stirrup bicycle pump, i pressurize a sodastream cylinder to 110 psi, using an inner tube schraeder valve brazed to an adaptor, with a T piece in the line it allows me to charge the cylinder and also feed the air cylinder solenoid. When the tilt switch triggers the solenoid, the air is released to the cylinder giving a rapid and strong activation of the arm to pull the cable and release the pin. The sodastream cylinder has enough capacity that i activated the air cylinder 15 times and the air pressure only dropped from 110 psi to 80 psi, and it is only required to activate once, and hopefully never, as it means i'm about to fall over!
